Soft smooth great carving of Chinese Daoist God Shoulao, the God of longevity.

Soapstone color is tan with dark brown and reddish spotting. The carving is very good. The beard, the clothing folds, the hair on the fly whisk have deep good line quality. A fine small sculptural work of art.

It has a nice feel of age. The stone is no longer soapy in feeling. With age, soapstone takes on a smooth, hard stone feel.
