A heavy, old, dark patina bronze censer with 4 claw dragons circling around the pearl of wisdom that has been marked on the base with the Xuande emperors reign mark.

A heavy, round, bronze censer with a rounded lip that has a cast decoration of four claw dragons circling around the pearl of wisdom. The dragons ride above sea waves. Between the designs is a stippling pattern. There is a shallow foot with a recessed base. The censer shows use with the interior having been burnt and the interior surface is rough The censer has not been re-cleaned. The censer is from an old estate.

There is a molded mark on the base center. It is the Xuande emperors reign mark.

MEASUREMENTS
6 ½” (16.5 cm) diameter x 2 5/8” (6.7 cm) tall. Weighs 2 lb 3.2 oz (1000 g)

CONDITION
The censor is old and shows heavy use. There are no breaks, dents or cracks. There is a tiny nick on the mouth rim. There is dark spotting near and on the base from age. The censer has a nice dark patina.

A great old Chinese bronze censer that will add age and substance to a collection or décor.
