The outer surface has ridges and knot holes where branches had been. The base and mouth are flat surfaces. The mouth and interior are not perfectly round but show a naturalistic uneven shape. The outer surface has a nice shine and polish. The inside is polished, but is not as smooth as the outside. The piece has a nice heavy weight.
