Finely potted of classical elegant form with ovoid body set beneath a wasted neck and flared rim, with the rounded body tapering inward towards the flat base, overall covered with splashed cream, chestnut, blue and green glaze, the glaze pooling and ending in an uneven line above the unglazed base, showing the buff pottery body.
Was TL tested by the University of Washington Anthropology Dept, Seattle and confirmed from the late Tang or possibly early Ming Dynasty.
7 1/2" tall x 8" diameter. Weight 3 lb 3.0 oz
Light scratches throughout but the enamels are very bright. There are not chips or cracks. The bottom had several small holes drilled to take samples for the TL testing. Otherwise it's in FANTASTIC shape.
A beautiful artifact that is at least 650 yrs old. Possibly older.
