Finely carved intricate dragon in the clouds belt hook. I love the glass eyes and the free carved pearl of wisdom in his mouth. How incredible is that. Some little boy was very lucky.

The elm burl wood with its marbling has been carved in the shape of a belt hook with the button in the back and the sloping frame to the dragonhead. The baby dragon faces the parent dragon’s head. The adult dragon has minute glass eyes and a pearl of knowledge in its mouth that rolls around freely. The carving is very intricate and has been well rounded and polished. The carving is so minute. The piece is very light weight.

There are no markings or labels.

3 3/8” (8.7 cm) long x ¾” (2 cm) wide x 1” (2.5 cm) tall. Weight .4 oz (15 g)

It is in excellent conditions with no breaks or noticeable wear.

I could see this little belt hook on a scholar’s desk as a small work of art. It is truly amazing.
