A refined, colorful, small work of art from the turn of the last century that has survived until today. I love the brass that has tiny leaf tooled designs. So much hand work.

Molded turquoise colored glass that was hand worked to eliminate the mold lines. The top of the box has an etched design of a peony bush in flower. The design is subtle and well executed. The bottom has a swirl of a darker color, which shows wonderful glass artistry. The two halves were joined by brass trim and hinge. The brass trim has been tooled with a leaf design. The base is flat.

There is an etched mark on the base. It reads CHINA.

3 1/8” (7.9 cm) x 3 1/8” (7.9 cm) x 1 3/8” tall (3.5 cm). Weighs 7.3 oz (210 g)

There are no chips, cracks, or breaks. There are wear marks on the base from being moved on a surface. There are a few manufacture flaws in the glass like dimples, and slight color variations.

Such a small box to add color and richness to your home décor. So much hand work and expertise went into its manufacture.
