Rich and colorful Chinese metalwork pin with a delightful and auspicious carved jade Foo lion.

Intricate, meticulous, tiny filigree silver metalwork with a gold wash. The metal has been shaped with tiny flowers and a bead for the center of the flower. The metal swirls and surrounds a green and white jade piece that has been carved in the shape of a Foo lion with its world ball. The jade coloration has a lovely balance of very pale and darker green. When held to the light, the stone has a nice translucence. The workmanship in metal completely surrounds and highlights the jade. The back has a tiny mesh border with an old pin back. The pin has a nice weight to it.

There is a small stamped mark on the back rim. It reads SILVER MADE IN CHINA.

2” (5.1 cm) long x 1 ¼” (3.2 cm) wide x 3/16” (0.2 cm) thick (excluding fastener) Weighs 0.6 oz (20 g)

There are no damages. The pin looks fresh and bright.

A beautiful old pin with expert workmanship and colorful expensive jade.
