Well cast, professionally molded, shiny, glittering figure of the Chinese rat zodiac animal that will amuse and guard you.

A two tone cast figure of a zodiac rat that is. The silver-colored base metal has been overlaid with a gold metal coating for the head, hands and feet. The silver non-magnetic metal hasn’t tarnished but is quite silver, making me believe it a nickel alloy like paktong. The gold color hasn’t tarnished either. The rat head is accurately molded with beady eyes, incisor teeth, and fur. The rat is wearing a robe with hanging folds, and loose sleeves and folds on the robe edges. He holds a free form spear that fits nicely in his hands. The piece has a nice weight. It has a flat base that shows wear. There is a hole in the base center.

There is the Chinese character for the word “rat” etched on the base.

5 5/8"" (13.7 cm) tall x 4 3/4"" (12.1 cm) wide x 3"" (7.6 cm) deep. Weighs 1 lb 14 oz (850 g).

There are no breaks, dents, or cracks. There is wear to the base. There is oxidization to the fold creases. This is manifested in some areas with both rust and green colored corrosion. There are some oxidization spots on the robe. The sculpture still looks shiny and bright.

If you were born in the year of the rat (1936, 1948, 1960, 1972, 1984, 1996, 2008), you will definitely need your rat guardian. An auspicious animal from the Chinese zodiac that will stand out with the shine of silver and gold.
