A thinly carved lotus leaf shaped brush wash that has good detail and good light blue green color with nice black inclusions. It is well thought out and executed.

A rectangular shaped piece of light blueish-green jade that has been well hollowed creating an undulating naturalistic edge that approximates the curve of a lotus leaf. There are carved veins radiating from a central dot in the inside of the leaf. The underside has thicker veins radiating from the central point which forms the leaf stem. There is a light polished finish to the jade. The carving is thin enough to see your hand when held to a light. The jade has a nice tactile quality and fits in one hand. The edge undulates and has a nice sharpness to it.

3 1/2"" (8.3 cm) x 3"" (7.6 cm) x 1/2"" (1.3 cm) tall. Weighs 1.7 oz (48 g).

There are no chips, cracks, or breaks. The inside has what look like wear scratches but it may only be natural stone inclusions. The stone has depth with different levels of black spot inclusions. It feels cold to the skin with a smooth, shiny feel.

I am drawn to the depth of color and artistry in this jade brush wash. A clever imaginative use of this color jade to make a leaf.
