From our European Collection, a fine 19th century Victorian wheel barometer, featuring a black lacquered wood casing inlaid with mother of pearl, swan neck pediment, silvered barometer dial, bow-front thermometer, hygrometer, spirit level, and with an ivory setting knob. Maker unknown. A very elegant and refined example.
Size and Condition: 38 inches tall, 9 3/8 inches wide, 3 inches deep. As the photos indicate, there is crazing of the black lacquer in various spots on the casing, as well as random losses to the mother of pearl commensurate with age.
