From our European Collection, a very fine 19th century carved oak choir bench from Oxford. This piece is very well worked, with two finely executed ecclesiastical-themed carved panels backing each of the two seating compartments. The phrase "Fight The Good Fight" is carved on the uppermost cross panel.
Size and Condition: 64 inches wide,53 inches tall, 20 inches deep. This piece is very sturdy and sound. It does show its age however with various areas of rubbing and scuffing to the wood commensurate with its actual prior use as a functional piece of furniture. There is one area under the left side arm rest that shows some evidence of wood splits, but this is merely cosmetic and does not undermine the integrity of the piece.
