For sale here is a MONUMENTAL vintage 1960s Studio del Campo Turin Italy handmade brutalist bronze and enamel one of a kind wall mounted sculpture titled "Stag" by Euclid Chiambretti, one of the original founders of the studio. Studio del Campos' large wall mounted sculptures are rare and always one of a kind as they took months to complete, were often special commissions by wealthy patrons or corporations, and were quite expensive in their day rivaling the cost of a luxury automobile. This sculpture was the work of artist/enamelist Euclide Chiambretti, one of the four founding partners of Studio del Campo, and it's titled "Stag" and dated 1969 as shown in my photos. Here's a short history of the Studio del Campo of Turin, Italy... ‘Studio Del Campo di Torino’ (1956-1998), a common name by which the artisan-artists Virgilio Bari, Lidya Lanfranconi, Bianca Tuninetto and Euclide Chiambretti (2012) sign their works. They collaborated with Sestante gallery in Milan. Their works were characterized by the extreme precision of the finish and the use of silver leaf under glazes, as well as the search for new designs and new shapes. Always able to design their own works, they agreed to work only for prestigious designers such as Gio Ponti and the architects Toni Cordero and Ettore Sottsas. Virgilio Bari is also a fairly good painter and sculptor. Signed at front in the metal, and with original signed paper label still affixed at back, both as shown in the photos. Truly monumental in scale, this artwork measures 27" high by 43.5" wide by 7" deep, and weighs about 75 pounds. Due to the size and weight and relative fragility of this item, it will cost $500 to pack and ship it safely, and I will only ship within the US. I am open to facilitating international shipping, but the international buyer must make all the arrangements and payments for the shipping themselves. If you prefer to hire a freight company yourself in the US, please let me know prior to paying for the item so I can remove the shipping charge. Please look at my photos, and use the zoom to see the details of the design. The bronze is heavily patinated but with areas where the patina is thinner you can see the color of the metal beneath. This is a high copper bronze that has a rose hue to it. The enameled sections are copper base with silver over top then enameled with geometric shapes that echo the geometric shapes of the surrounding patinated bronze. In great condition with one very small crack and minor enamel loss to the very small enamel section at top of front leg measures about 1" but really almost imperceptible and is less than 1/1000th of the entire enamel on the piece, and with otherwise minimal wear throughout as shown in photos - please view the photos and read the description in full and ask all questions prior to purchase. I am open to reasonable offers from serious buyers.
