Rare Korean stoneware vase from the Silla period, 5th or 6th century. Undulating decoration incised with a comb and pierced with typical triangles. The upper part is covered with an ash glass. A similar but smaller and unglazed model is housed at the Minneapolis Institute. Good condition. Height: 34cm

Cast bronze Buddha lacquered with colours and gilding. The cast iron is very thin, a volute decoration is incised on the robe, the colours are gone, there are still traces visible on the photo. The gilding has been applied cold on lacquer. The general aspect of the construction and the patina of the metal announces a very old bronze, the style is not conventional Chinese. It does not look Himalayan nor Mongolian. I think it is a Korean creation probably around 10th century or a little before...
