This splendid chawan (tea bowl) was made by a potter named Sueishi Taisetsu. It is simple and humble, yet radiates the nobility and depth born from the thousand year old grand pottery tradition of Bizen.
Sueishi Taisetsu was born in 1953 in the city of Bizen. In 1975, in established his own kiln there and from that time has been selected several times to expose at the prestigious Japan Ceramic Art Exhibition, the Japan Traditional Arts Exhibition and the Japan Fine Arts Exhibition.
