Guest Book

A very attractive chawan (tea bowl) made by a Hagi potter named Morishima Kazunobu (b. 1937). He established his first kiln in Hagi in 1967 and built second one in another area of that town in 1981.

This particular bowl, with a smooth milky white glaze veiling the famous red Hagi clay, is a great example of that pottery tradition, which has been sought after by tea ceremony enthusiasts for 400 years.
