A very interesting hakeme chawan (tea bowl) by one of the most known contemporary Japanese potters, Yamada Kazu.

Yamada Kazu was born in 1954 in a family of known Tokoname potters, his father is Yamada Kenkichi and his uncle is none other than Living National Treasure Yamada Jozan. Kazu was also influenced by many known potters like Koie Ryoji Suzuki Osamu and the legendary Kato Tokuro with whom he maintained a close friendship until his death in 1985.

The chawan is in very good condition. It is signed by the potter and will be shipped in a fitted wooden box (tomobako).
