This beautiful yunomi is the work of Yokoyama Naoki; a relatively young Bizen potter, born in 1970. A yunomi is a tea cup, a vessel less formal than a chawan, which is used for the tea ceremony. Yet, in a yunomi, one can get a sense of the mastery of its maker, and that makes this particular cup very appealing, as it is a great example of Yokoyama Naoki’s craftsmanship. Its size and shape also makes it a perfect tabi-jawan; a traveler’s tea bowl. Yokoyama Naoki founded his kiln in 2000 and is already widely known and getting more and more attention. He insufflates a new spirit, clearly his own, into the 800 year old Bizen tradition. The yunomi is signed and in perfect condition. It comes with its signed box. Dimensions: 10 cm x 7 cm (4 in x 2.8 in), Weight 295 g (10.3 oz) More pictures available on demand.
