Antique, Rare Tibetan Ritual Water Bottle Case “Chab-Shub” of silk and gold brocade with stylised lotus among clouds. The 'Chab Shub’ or “Chab Deb” would cover a small water bottle made of gold, silver or copper and would be carry on a monk’s belt to be used to rinse ones mouth. Only high ranking monks / Lamas and officials would carry such high quality silk & gold brocade “Chab-Shub” in occasions such big festivals and ceremonies. The low rank monks would have a similar case but made of simple red cotton cloth. Completely original 19th cent silk brocade and silk linen. Measurements: H 25 cm x W 22,5 cm.
