A very good, embroidered satin silk unofficial informal robe for a Manchu lady. The background in turquoise colour satin, is embroidered with butterflies, bats, different kind of flowers etc., in multicoloured silk floss. Borders in black and blue band with embroidered light blue small flowers. Fastened with five knot-end-loop toggle buttons. Lining in light silk. Calf-length type: H. 110 cm; W. 145 cm. Qing, late 19th to early 20th cent. Condition: very good, but some wear and minor stains. Provenance: from the estate of the fist Danish Sinologist Kurt Wulff that was in China in the beginning of the 20th cent. He died in 1930s.
