Large ceramic vase of ovoid form and broad opening decorated with a geometric pattern in inlaid coloured clay (mishima technique) by internationally recognised ceramic artist Takeuchi Shingo. Dusty brown ground with additional brown, blue and cream colours. Signed at the bottom with artist’s mark. Japan, contemporary, after 2000. H 27.5 cm Condition: Perfect.  Takeuchi Shingo was born in 1955 in Seto. Until 1979 studied at the Aichi Prefectural Ceramics Research Facility and than with one of the great master potter, Kato Shuntei II. In 1982 establishing his own kiln in Seto. He has been exhibited both at home and abroad and his works are in numerous private and public collections among which the Seto Museum, the Yingge Ceramics Museum Taiwan, the Korean International Ceramics Foundation Collection.
