Large silvered bronze Koro model of an Egret perched high up on one of a group of bronze poles emerging from the low water/ base, the egret concentrated looking down to a small silver crab.
The egret feathers are exceptionally and realistically well cast, the bird eyes are in gold.
Signed in a rectangular silver plaque: “Katsunori”
Total height with base 89 cm. Egret H 34 cm.
Base L 45 x 31 cm.
Japan, Meiji Period (1868-1912).
Good condition.
