A late 18th century Qianlong Dehua "Blanc de Chine" censer; the compressed rounded body raised on a tripod brace of three curved short legs and covered in a cool translucent milky white glaze. The shoulders curve in to a straight galleried rim at the mouth, flanked by two ruyi-shaped handles. A circular indentation centered on the base. The exterior is glazed except for the very tip of the feet; the interior is not totally glazed, revealing the fine white biscuit. The translucency of the body is highlighted in the last photos. Qing Dynasty, Qianlong Period (1736-1795) Height: 2-1/4" (5.71 cm); Width: 4-1/8" (10.47 cm) Condition: Excellent condition with no cracks or restorations, just one tiny nick to the inside edge of the mouth.
