A decorative pair of Chinese Gu form bronze vases in Archaistic style with integral square footed stands. The flared portion and upper register of the vase decorated with stiff leaf decoration and ruyi motifs. The central bulbous portion containing stylised taotie masks against an interlocking T fret and swastika with four projecting flanges. The narrow cylindrical portions decorated with a scrolling pattern of ruyi motifs. The bell shaped base decorated with stylised leaf decoration incorporating leiwen borders. Dating 19th century Qung dynasty. Both vases are in good order, a short split to the rim of one of the vases, otherwise in good condition. They were originally lacquered but this has been polished away, please see images. They measure 22cm or just over 8.6 inches high and weigh 1.032kg and 0.963kg respectively. Shipping at Cost.
