An Arita plate of scalloped form painted in kakiwake style with a Chinese Pheasant and rock motif surrounded by pomegranates in the centre, and trailing foliage to the rim, including Peonies and Plum flowers. The dish dates to the late 18th century circa 1780-1800. The rim decorated with a brown glaze. The reverse undecorated and the interior of the footring displaying faux chattering. The plate measures 17.5cm in diameter and stands 2.8cm high. The dish is in excellent condition without cracks, chips or restoration. Shipping at Cost.
