Daimaru Hokuho I (1879 - 1959)

Daimaru Hokuho I was born in Kaga in 1879. He joined the Kutani pottery company and studied under Kitayama Shiquan in Kyoto in 1899. In 1906, he was invited to teach in China where he also studied Chinese ceramics. He returned home to Kyoto in 1909. Over the years he won several gold and silver medals in various exhibitions. He died in 1959 leaving his name to Daimaru Hokuho II.

Ezaiemon Fukagawa became the head of the Fukagawa family's porcelain manufacturing business in 1856 and founded Koransha (Company of the Scented Orchid) in 1875.

Makuzu Kozan II (Hanzan) (1859 - 1940)

Makuzu Kozan II, the adopted son of Makuzu Kozan I, was born Miyagawa Hannosuke. He was known for his blue and white Seto style wares, as well as his excellent Kyoto-style ink painting. Kozan I turned the family factory over to Hanzan in the 1880's and in 1917, one year after his fathers death, Hanzan took the name Makuzu Kozan II.

Mashimizu Zoroku II (1861 - 1936)

Mashimizu Zoroku II (born Jutaro) was the eldest son of Zoroku I. After studying ceramics in China and Korea, he assumed the name of Mashimizu Zoroku II in 1882. In 1884, he earned honorable mention at the Kyoto Exhibition and was awarded the gold medal at the Kofukuji Temple Exhibition. He opened a new kiln in Kyoto in 1917, and in 1926 he made a celadon koro for the Emperor Showa.
