Classic Antonio Pinenda sterling silver and moonstone necklace. Made in Taxco circa 1950-60's. The necklace consists of 15 'C'-shaped swirls of sterling about 1 inch long, with bezel set 3/4 x 1/4 inch oval cabochon moonstones. Each is milky white and opalescent with a glint of pale blue in certain lights.
It is made to be worn high on the neck as a choker length at 16 inches around the outside, and about 14 3/4 inside by 1/2 inch wide. Beautifully constructed, the necklace fits the curve of the neck, but making it a little difficult to measure. It is marked "Antonio Taxco" crown, eagle 3, a worn Hecho En Mexico, and worn 970. It is in excellent vintage condition with a tight clasp and light age patina.
