Dramatic and unusual vintage sterling and stone necklace collar. Made in Taxco, Mexico, circa 1960-70's by S.R. one of several unknown atrists who is listed in Bille Hougart's book of hallmarks. The necklace features a 1/2 inch wide sterling rear and side collar with a fantastic 1 x 3/4 inch carved push clasp. Suspended in front on line are silver drops alternating with turqoise roundells. The wearable length is about 14 1/2 inches fitting a small or medium neck. It is marked 925, Taxco, SR, Mexico, with the Gov't eagle 2 mark for 1948-1978.
