Early 19th century, Kioto School Netsuke of two Playful Puppies. One of them is placing its paws on top of an awabi shell, while the other one is curiously placing its paws on its back. Excellent detail and great hairwork. Large eyes inlaid in dark horn. The spaces between the hind legs of a Puppy and the awabi shell serve as natural himotoshi, common of netsuke from the Edo Period. Netsuke measures 0.84 inches (2.1cm) wide, 1.52 inches (3.8cm) long, and 1.08 inches (2.8cm) tall. Excellent condition, as shown in the posed photos.
