A fine Stevens & Williams art glass open salt with a Sheffield silver tripod holder. The salt has a ribbed body encircled by spiral threading which goes up almost to the rim edge. The ribbing extends from the bottom almost to the edge of the rim for a maximum optic effect. There is a ring of applied rigaree at the waist for seating in the holder. And the rim is ruffled and petaled. Sheffield hallmark is shown here. About 80-100 years.
About 2" high in the stand and 3" diameter at rim. Very good condition, no chips cracks or repairs. A gorgeous example of English art glass from its golden age.
