A fine framed antique 19th century ship print of the "Wellington", Captain James Liddell of Dover. This is a colored stone engraving published by Huggins in 1840, London. Framed by the previous owner in the 50s. He got a letter from Lloyd's of London dated 12th September, 1952, giving the history of the vessel which was registered in London and built in Bombay in 1800 for the route London, Bombay and Australia. Later sold for China trade to another owner.
22 by 15 1/2" sight, 30 1/2 by 24" framed. Very good condition, in a grained wood frame and well matted. (Note that the detail picture has a glare from the glass, not a stain).
Note: For collectors of Chinese imperial porcelain, another related Captain Liddell formed an outstanding small collection of exquisite mark and period items of the Kangxi, Yongzhen and Qianlong era. All that porcelain crossed the oceans on such vessels.
