The price, stone type, and longest millimeter size for each of these fascinating ancient intaglio ring seals in this group of three (100.57S.HD, 100.57X.HD and 100.57Z.HD] are shown on the individual seal’s own photo. Found in Western Afghanistan during the Russian occupation, each of the seals is in very good condition and can be easily set in a contemporary mount. Attributed to the Sassanian Empire, c.300-600AD, the seals represent truly amazing examples of the ancient gem cutter’s skill. Stone types in this group include agate and jasper. As an ancient miniature art form illustrating zoomorphic and anthropomorphic themes, the seals range in size from 9mm to 13mm. If an item has sold, it will be so-noted on its photo. A purchase comes with a small display card, a map of Afghanistan highlighting the general area in which the seals were found, and a certificate guaranteeing authenticity. Please refer to any seal of interest by first the Trocadero Number and then the Inventory Number shown on the photo for the seal.
