All of the individually and inexpensively priced artifacts and artifact lots in this group of twelve (MAD2, MAD6, MAD7, MAD80, MAD130, MAD1234L, MAD135F, MAD135I, MAD173 and MAD209,) are from the early Rev. Maurice Dametz collection. A popular teacher at old Colorado College (now Colorado Christian University), his specialties were geology, anthropology, history, archaeology, and the Bible. Dametz found most of the artifacts in his collection in the mid-20th century, and usually mounted them on cardboard provenance sheets that were annotated with pertinent information concerning date and location of find. Of particular interest in this group of twelve are the several groups of mixed potshards, some from southwestern Colorado. The artifacts shown in collector frames on this page will come in those frames, the artifacts not in frames come with a small display card, and all come with a biographical sketch about Dametz and his collection. NOTE: if you would like to view a large number of our various listings, and at the same time limit your browsing, try our ‘TWELVE different items on a single page format’ by simply spelling out the word TWELVE in the search box. That will quickly bring up all of our listings that have twelve different items on a page, each individually priced!
