This group of six stone artifacts (PJH1-6) is being sold as a lot. From the international collection of Dr. Peter Hilton, the selection represents a variety of stone and type. From the early days of Peter’s collecting, he did not at that time keep detailed records concerning provenance or type of each of the pieces. The descriptions (without specific provenance in most cases) are thus my best guesses based upon rock type and morphology. The exception is the Pre-Dynastic blade from Egypt (PHJ20), a piece that Peter specifically recalls being from that general area. Each photo shows first the inventory number in brackets of the illustrated piece followed by the artifact type. Next comes provenance and/or rock type followed by age. Finally listed is my estimated grade based upon 1-10 with a 10 being the highest. A good study collection or gift for the budding archaeologist, it is presented in a 5” x 8” glass-fronted mount and comes with our guarantee of authenticity.
