Mushroom masks use the natural form of tree parasitic fungi with minimal modification. Only the openings of the mouth and eyes as well as the nose are the work of the sculptor. They are rarely worn by dancers but more generally hanged inside the house where they will acquire a beautiful black patina of soot. Kali is one of the main sacred deity of the Ramayana Saga. This is a very old mask of the Ramayana theater with traces of very important wear. This mask was painted but the polychrome was erased over time, it now shows an eroded and dusty patina of wood. Nice flat and thin primitive mask with a white painted trisul on the front. Hard black patina, the eyes and mouth are under-ligned with an old white paint. Hairs are fixed with glue. Note a laocal repair with iron wire mostly visible from the back side. Very beautiful dark wood phurbu richly carved, the top shows 3 beautiful faces of protective ancestors of exceptional sculptural quality, each face measures 5 to 6 cm high. The top shows a miniature animal head (1.5 cm high), probably that of the mythical horse Hayagriva. The central part is a beautiful dorgi very finely carved. The triangular point shows a trunk wrapped in the mouth of Makara, each hand of which holds the head of a snake which rise from the point of the Phurbu; H 28.5 cm
