A Churning-rod holder also called “ghurra” in nepalee Although this one can first appears as quite classic, it shows a very nice light brown and in some place encrusted patina indicating a great age possibly over 50 years, this ghurra has been collected in the district of Rukum ( western nepal) . The top part with a solid metal ring figures a house , the roof being supported by two rows of 3 milk pots, the central part could evoke lotus leaves assembled with a knot. Very good condition, height 10 3/4 inches (27 cm), thickness 1 1/2 inc (3.5 cm). The piece is nicely mounted on an iron stand.
