A very old dhyangro in perfect condition with its stick. The handle is built similarly to a phurba, a triangular blade, showing all the necessary shamanic tools and symbols (holy vase, trisul, snakes). The tip of the triangular blade is protected by a thin sheet of coper showing a very old patina. However the design of this handle is somewhat peculiar as there is only one important mahakara on top of the blade giving an assymetrical shape to the handle. The top of the handle close to the drum shows four faces of ancestors. Such design is very specific a well know district in the Himalaya. Ruksadra (the seeds from the boudha tree) are inside the drum and provide an endless sound as soon as the drum is moved. Very good patina, from early 20 and possibly from 19th, Height 64 cm, Handle 32cm, diameter of the drum 33 cm (usually made with a goat skin). Note that the drum has been rebuilt with nylon ropes which is often the case as it is stronger that the traditional ropes. More information on request
