This Famille Verte vase has a nice decoration in overglaze enamel of green leaves and coral peonies against an ivory colored base glaze. At the top there is a band of triangular geometric in red and green figures. A butterfly flits about on the neck of the vase. At the base there is another band - this one of vertical lines - these in red, green and yellow.
The vase measures 7 ½” high by 2 ½” diameter at the top and 3 ¼” diameter at its widest. We date it to the late Qing dynasty, circa 1880s – 1910. It is in excellent condition. The bottom has a pair blue underglaze circles and an old label identifying it as being from the Ch'ing dynasty.
