A very rare Egyptian Amulet of Mut and Khonsu

Mut, a fertility goddess, was the patroness of the city of Thebes and the consort of
the god Amen-Ra. She is pictured as a woman wearing the double crown of Upper and
Lower Egypt. This amulet of two coloured faience shows her seated and holding
her son, the infant god Khonsu, in her lap. The arms and legs are open worked.
