Interesting ancient Egyptian scarab with an old provenance. The scarab is inscribed with two facing seated figures and above a plant.

The scarab was attached on a card with a wax seal from the dealer David Proskey (New York Coin & Stamp Co) and was bought in the 1920s from him. The card is inscribed: "Two seated figures - probably, two children of Horus guarding the internal organs of the deceased, which were placed in (Canopic) jars under their protection".
If you google "David Proskey, New York Coin & Stamp Co.", you will find some interesting
informations about this dealer. Interesting and rare old provenance.
