Japanese Vintage Maru Obi Textile Silk Crysanthemum FLowers

Made in Japan

COndition: used, shows wear and some stains

This is a vintage maru obi, the design featuring crysanthemum flowers, a nice yellow, gold, white colors, etc. This obi can also be used to decorate your home by hanging this on the wall, anywhere you put this will look great.

The maru obi are s the most formal type of women's obi, though all but obsolete today. It is made from cloth about 68 cm wide and is folded around a double lining and sewn together. Maru obi were at their most popular during the Taishō and Meiji periods. Their bulk and weight make maru obi difficult to tie by oneself, and are worn only by maiko and brides in the present day.
