Suzuki Seiji 鈴木青児 (1946-1999) was the younger son of one of the most influential Seto potters, Suzuki Seisei 鈴木青々 (1914-1990). Seiji studied under his father, but did not make mere copies of is father’s work, a common practice in Japanese pottery families. He did excel in red iron glaze.
He was a frequent exhibitor at Nitten, Chunichi Ceramic exhibit, Nihon Shin Kōgeiten and Nihon Gendai Tōgeiten to name a few. Sadly, he did pass away in his prime.
