A fine and super quality 19th century Chinese cloisonné enameled snuff bottle, of flattened moon-flask form, one side finely decorated with a pair of birds perching on flowering branches, the reverse side also finely worked with flowering branches issuing from the foot, all reserved on a light turquoise ground, a band of "ruyi" motif around the shoulder, fish-scale pattern encircling the top and bottom rims, the perfectly fitted original stopper with similar decoration and fitted with a most like original metal spoon. Comes with a good quality later date carved wood stand.
DATE : Chinese, Qing Dynasty, 19th century.
MARK : no mark or signature.
SIZE : approximately 3 1/4" (8.2 cm) overall height including stopper and wood stand; snuff bottle only with stopper about 2 3/4" (7 cm) high.
CONDITION : the bottle is in excellent condition; two tiny enamel chips to one side only. Both the original stopper and spoon, and the wooden stand, are all perfect without damages or repairs.
