A fine and rare early 20th century Chinese Xuantong mark and period famille-verte porcelain 'lotus' wine cup, finely potted and painted around the body with dense lotus flowers, top rim gilded, interior and base glazed white and inscribed with the Xuantong reign mark in underglazed-blue and of the period. (Wooden stand not included)
NOTE : The last emperor of the Qing dynasty Xuantong, reigned only for a very short period of three years, thus any porcelain produced during this short time span and carried the period mark is considered very rare.
DATE : Chinese, Qing Dynasty, mark and period of Xuantong (1909 – 1911).
MARK : underglazed-blue six-character Xuantong mark on base.
SIZE : approximately 2 3/8" (6 cm) high; 3 3/8" (8.5 cm) top diameter.
CONDITION : in perfect condition; minor gilding wear to rim; minor production glaze fault around inside rim together with a tiny production fault noted for accuracy only. No chips, no cracks, and no repairs.
