Extraordinary ivory study of open ivory fig, finely carved. Ando Rokuzan is known for his lifelike ivory carvings of fruits and vegetables. He studied with Otani Mitsutoshi, a pupil of Hisamatsu Harutoshi. His works are preserved in the Sannomaru Shozakan Museum of the Imperial Collections. Kaneda Ki red seal next to Ando Rokuzan signature. Kaneda approved this piece by Rokuzanm either for exhibition or for sale. Period Taisho Era (1912-1926) Sizes: 7 cm.
