An exceptional Japanese ivory okimono of an hunter from Ainu clan with the head pointing upwards looking for a prey; he is wearing attus (traditional tunic made from the bast fibers of a Japanese elm tree that is native to Hokkaido) holding a bow with an arrow ready to be fired. A goose is on the ground. Kogetsu engraved signature under the base with Kakihan, a personalized seal carved or painted next to artist signature; sometimes called a kao. Meiji period 1870 ca. Sizes: 34 cm Condition report: Good condition
