A well modeled bronze figure of a seated classical female figure dressed in a flowing tunic, opening a box to reveal a beaded necklace within.
8.75 in. (22 cm.) tall
This bronze figure is unsigned but bears a foundry mark “G F.” It likely was mounted on a signed bronze base, and may have stood alone as a sculpture or may have decorated to top of a clock. It shows similarities with works by Pierre Alexandre Schoenewerk (1820 - 1885) as well as James Pradier (1790 - 1852) and the prolific 19th century Moreau family of sculptors.
