A finely cast and chased bronze model of a putto, or cherub, shown adorned with a drape and reclining on a flower-strewn natural surface. The figure is depicted leaning over a basket of flowers and looking down at a pair of doves on the ground. Mounted on the original elliptical black marble base.
7 in. (18 cm.) long
Though unsigned, this figure is similar to examples retailed by the notable Parisian clock firm Raingo Frères, who contracted heavily with the Pradier and Moreau bronze sculpting studios.
