Old/Vintage Topeng babakan dance mask of prince Panji from the Cirebon region of Java, the Panji cycle of folk tales originate in East Java. His white face, elongated eyes and long thin nose indicate his refined character. This mask is about 50 years old, there is a small repair on the lower lip which would indicate that this mask was used in actual performances.

Dating to probably the 1930's this puppet is from a Dutch collection taken out of Indonesia around WWII & so is still in good condition with the original paint and clothes. A pair of Javanese Wayang golek cepak puppets of a rare type with legs attached to the body. According to Peter Buurman’s well known book on the subject “Wayang Golek” in which a couple of puppets of this type are illustrated this form probably originates from North Java (Japara) or Yogyakarta. The puppets measure about 19 inches in length from the bottom of the handle to the top of the head.
