Olsen Nolte Parade Saddle Set -- Black Hand Tooled Leather with Sterling Silver Conchos .Rare exceptionally crafted parade saddle. This was used in the Pasadena Rose Parade during the 1930s until the 1970s - Olsen Nolte Saddlery Company was started by Al Nolte and John Olsen in 1937. Al Nolte was in his early 60's when he opened his shop, having worked for most of his life for notable makers such as Visalia Stock Saddle Company, Herman Heiser Saddlery, Great West Saddlery and Main & Winchester. Walt Goldsmith took over the company in 1942 upon the death of Al Nolte. The company continued making the highest quality saddles into the 1950's. Today, Olsen Nolte is still very much in business in San Carlos, CA
