An unsigned Locke Art sherbet in the poppy pattern. This sherbet is the same as the #42 shape shown in the Locke Art catalog except that it has a flat foot instead of the saucer foot. The sherbet measures 3 inches tall, 3 ½ inches in diameter and has no chips, cracks or scratches. Locke Art was designed and created by Joseph Locke, the inventor of Amberina, Agata, New England Pomona and several other types of 19th century art glass. The Locke Art pieces were produced in Pittsburgh, PA in the early 20th century.
